  3. I need it, too!!! But I've taken some online classes.... Christy Tomlinson has great ones...and I love Junelle Jacobson's! I took one of Teresa McFayden's lettering classes. And I've signed up for Amy's stitching class. We are moving to our new house we built...in two weeks. So I'm only packing right now! But I hope to start creating by July!!!

  4. Since Silver Bella I've signed up for a couple of Suzi Blu's online classes on drawing faces, painting and art journaling. I just recently took Mary Ann Moss' "Full Tilt Boogie" online class.

Isn't Handmade U in NE? Might even be in Omaha .. lemme see if I can find a link. I just read about it the other day... Here: http://rach-ology.blogspot.com/p/handmade-u-fall-2012.html Actually, now that I've read about it ... but I have enough travel on my schedule as it is!

  5. I did go to Handmade U this past April and plan to go again in September. I have been to all 3 and I love it! Rachel just posted all the details so you definitely should check it out. If you and your sweet sister would ever want to come visit us Indiana Girls we could have our own little mini art retreat!

  6. I hear you Lynn ~ I miss Silver Bella too. I will always be grateful to Teresa for changing my art life and bringing so many dear friends into my world. I know it isn't in your backyard (and they certainly aren't a million dollars!) but many of the girls come play in Southern California every year with us. It is a wonderful group of ladies and art. Hope you can come join us next year for some reconnecting!

  7. I miss it too, but have been going to Karla Nathan's Birdsong events, which is about a 10 hour drive and she makes it very affordable! You are welcome to visit me in Colorado and craft with a couple of other Bellas here, anytime!

  8. Lynn,
I miss Silver Bella so much. I just signed up for Handmade U. It looks like a lot of fun. I also may go to Karla's Birdsong events. Think I will stick close to home for awhile. My sidekick, Donna, signed up for Handmade U, too. Hope to see you at one of them!
    Hugs,
    Suz

  10. I have been going to Artiscape in Columbus Ohio for the past two years. Amazing classes and a lot of talented people. Really a great retreat with the emphasis on learning new techniques and creating wonderful projects. It is always in April and is quite affordable as you can take as few or as many classes as you choose. Google Artiscape and you should connect to Europen Papers and the fine group of people who put this retreat on. I do miss Silver Bella because of the connections I made there but Artiscape has replaced my retreat withdrawal completely.
    Check it out!

  11. Do you know about The Gathering? It is happening September 29 in Cosby, Missouri. It's about an hour north of Kansas City, so it must be just a couple hours from Omaha.

I'm going to be a vendor at The Gathering, but also, a friend and I have discussed starting an artist workshop event here in Kansas City.

I never had the chance to go to Silver Bella, which bums me out even more now that I live closer! But maybe we can take our drive and inspiration and move on to different things!

  12. I am sad to see that Silver Bella is no longer! I was considering doing a 'day craft retreat' the day prior to may vintage/handmade market in McCook, Ne October 26 --so the retreat would be Friday October 25, but don't have the time to do the planning! If someone could throw one together I'd be more than happy to help! The event is Junktoberfest http://facebook.com/Junktoberfest
