this is our little owl...he lives in this tree, which is on the corner of our block. we are seriously obsessed with spotting him, and have even named him "adam dowel our little owl" for ridiculous reasons i won't go into here. anyway, he is the inspiration for my day 14 square...

at the bottom, i attached a cross Christmas ornament that i scored from the hobby lobby 90% off aisle! it was gold, so i painted it to make it look more shabby.

i like the scalloped hymn pages along the bottom.
