projects 2 and 3:
easter ornaments and valentine gifts were up next on the pinkabella to-do list.
the paper mache ornaments were just sweet as could be. each bunny image we decoupaged onto the ornies is seriously a playing card from a deck of egg shaped playing cards that i picked up at a garage sale years ago. add some glitter and a bit of lace. perfect.
the valentine's gifts are precious. i want to make more. lots more!!! karla designed the prototype, and we eagerly followed her lead. using a vintage glove, she attached ribbons at the wrist so they could be hung on a beloved's door, perhaps?
we glued millinery flowers onto the outside.
and stuffed them with chocolates and pretty handmade valentines.
so much fun!

project one: the canvas
right after we checked in to our suite and had showers on friday nite, we were ready to get our pink-a-bella on! the inspiration for this super fun project comes from julie nutting and her book, collage couture.
we painted.
we stamped.
we glittered and glued.
we used mod podge like a pro.
we embellished!!! (we REALLY liked this part!)
a project like this requires lots of "drying" time, so we would work on it a little here and there throughout the weekend. having other projects to work on during the in between times works great for little artists.
i have to say, the little girls enjoyed all of our projects, but this one was a pink-a-bella favorite!

happy day, friends!

something different.
this is definitely different than most of the pretties i share here.
bolder colors, much less glitter, and not a bit of pink!
i found an old golden book all about nature that featured butterflies.
i used a butterfly paper punch, ledger paper, and hot glue.
we are talking e.a.s.y.
i really like how it turned out,
and i love the message of hope.

a valentine pretty...
at my first silver bella (sigh with happy memories) i took a class from pam garrison called lineage of love.
loved it. it was paper-based, which is my fav. we used old family photos (or not) and we embellished like those silver bellas do best.
:)
i used the same concept and created a valentine's day pretty with color copies of vintage postcards, glitter, fancy lace bits, flowers, buttons, and other doo dads.
i think i'd like to make another, only shabbier.
hmmmmm.
my art room is calling my name!
happy day to you, friends!
