our advent activity last night was decorating a gingerbread house!!! now, i would love to be one of those mommas who can whip out a recipe and throw together the ingredients for a lovely little gingerbread cottage. but. i. am. not. here's a little secret. i totally hate baking, cooking, doing dishes, really anything that involves the kitchen except eating!!! anyway. here's my solution!

the kits include a mix for the frosting, but i actually prefer to just BUY the betty crocker frosting in a little tub. (shocker!)
we dig around in the halloween bucket for any leftover colorful tasty treats that will help embellish our little candyland world.
the kids went to town with the frosting.

ReplyDeleteWhat fun! We used to get together with friends when the kids were little, using frosting and graham crackers to create the houses. So enjoyable! I will have to get some things together for my kids -- you are never too old for gingerbread houses. Stay safe and warm! :) Tammy
